showing at Sietch 22 Collective as guest artist

Hello all... i'm very excited once again! why? because of an upcoming event at the Sietch 22 Collective at the Old Rainier Brewery! Part of the great colorful building has been coverted into artist work/living studios and they are open for the public to see this coming Saturday, June 13th from 11-7! And the collective will follow all this art with an art after party from 9pm and on! I am excited as the public will get a chance to see how these artists work and live and see the art they produce! I'll be here with about 8 other local artists around the community to exhibit some of our own art too. This was very nice of Sietch 22 to share this opportunity with us. To learn more about the artists that form the great Sietch 22, please visit their website at http://sietch22.com/ . :D

hanging art at bedlam coffeehouse

My very loyal groupie (in above photo ;)) came with me to visit the grand opening of Bedlam Coffeehouse in Belltown, Seattle thursday night. Not only does this place have 5 of my photos hanging on their walls (=P) but this coffee place has many other things to look at too. As we sat w/ wandering eyes around the space, we saw little wooden blocks spelling out their coffee place. So cute! But they also have all sorts of collective items displayed in their space. One of the owners was even painting a monkey on the wall as we were drinking coffee! How cool is that? ha! It's very inspiring to see these young guys open such a coffee place in seattle... so different from any other coffee place... very community based which is nice! So, if you're ever in Belltown, go check this place out and check out my works and other photographer's works that are up now too... =P "Bedlam Coffeehouse on 2nd and Bell"
p.s. i like their chai latte and all their COOKIES! ... :)
p.p.s. thank you to the couple who bought 3 of my photos at Bedlam! and thank you Ben and rest of the boys at Bedlam Coffee for being so kind in always supporting all local artists.

silly dog...

My friend Lea and I crossed paths with this dog who I name in my head as Patsy during our artwalk adventure in the phinney/greenwood area last weekend. I look at this dog and she just cracks me up! No matter what angle I look at her, she looks straight back at me! She's so adorable! The owners saw how excited I was seeing her that they asked her to do tricks like sit up straight for me... unfortunately, I did not get a shot of that moment. I don't know what her name is but in my head, it's Patsy. If you should ever see Patsy around the neighborhood, give her a petting! ;)

great day...

what a nice day today! last night was opening night for the greenwood/phinney artwalk and i didn't realize that this event would bring in so many seattle people not to mention my good friends and family. it was really fun to meet strangers from all walks of life and everyone's SO friendly and nice!!! well, i tend to think everyone's nice usually... but they are! It's fun and sometimes funny to see what people say about your works...But it's even more fun when people come up to me to tell me how they can relate to the image I took... :) Today, I'll be there again but probably not so much staying at my own venue. I think today, I will take some time to visit the over 60 artists at this event.... :) The above image was an image I took last summer inland from oregon coast. today's such a nice day... just like the photo above... :)

Greenwood Phinney Artwalk! - May 8th and 9th!

I'm once again participating in another artwalk! This time, the Greenwood Phinney Artwalk. :) This will probably be my last artwalk for this year so swing by to say hi if you're in the neighborhood. To see the map of the participating businesses and the artists they're showcasing, please visit this link : http://www.greenwoodphinneyartwalk.com/home/index.html . I'm number 25 on the map. My photographer friend, Lea Yang will also be showing this weekend. She's number 11. ;) It should be a big event. I'll be at my venue friday night from 6:30-9:30 and saturday from 12-5.... hope to see some familiar faces... ;)

my art in a design showroom ... :D

I'm really lucky to have design & art consultant, Keri Schroeder select 4 of my prints to be displayed and sold at a modern design showroom over in Kirkland. The showroom is MDS - Modern Design Sofas which they have 2 locations, one in Kirkland and one in Pioneer Square. They have really fine, clean designs and they offer interior decorating services too! Keri has a great design sense and is really nice helping me through this exciting new process for me. I hope to be able to work with MDS for quite some time so we'll see how it goes! :D Below are the 4 images Keri selected to show in their showroom. :) You can also learn more about MDS here : http://www.moderndesignsofas.com/

another 'first'....

I mailed this framed photo out to my very first 'out-of-state artist buyer' on Monday. It's a first so I'm extremely excited so of course I must have a post for this... =P Today, the buyer emailed to tell me she received the package! I'm so glad it got to her in safe condition. Thank you Kathryn for being a 'first' for me and your support of young artists! :D

updates....

I am going to be part of a group show at Cugina Cafe in Ballard for months of July/August! Stay tuned for more information about the other cool artists I'll be doing the show with. Personally, I like group shows more than solo and this is my first so I'm excited. It's more exciting to share the space with other artists. Me like... :D

I also have an opportunity to have a modern interior decorating/furniture store carry my stuff too! But more specifics on that later. In meantime, enjoy the image above. It's a photo I came across on the fotologue website and it's a photo I want to just be in! I love it!

More of Lea Yang's Photography..... :)

Hello all! Today I want to share with you one of my favorite images taken by my friend/photographer, Lea Yang. This photo of hers was taken on her trip to India and she titles it, "Munshi Ghat". I fell in love with the colors, texture and the whole character of these steps as soon as I saw the print made by her. And today I'm excited because Lea has an artist reception at Victrola Coffee and I'm sure to be there to cheer her on! :D Hope you all can stop by to say hi to this great artist... 411 15th Ave. East, Capitol Hill.

more simple things.....

My dear friend Mae Dela Cruz happens to be an amazing photographer too! I paticularly adore this series of images she's taken. She captures the natural light and the focus of the subject matter so well. I also like her choice of subject matter... i can just imagine these little maikos and lucky cats come alive and dance and make all of us smile... :) I hope you'll enjoy these photos as much as I do.

thanks................

Today, I just want to share with everyone one of my favorite pieces that I took back in 2006 at the Tulip Festival in Skagit Valley, WA. I titled this piece, "Hopeful". It's also my very first sold piece at my very first show at the Garden Festival in Ballard. Because of all these "first's", it will be a piece that I will not sell to anyone else. So, to the gentleman who bought my "Hopeful" piece, you have a one-of-a-kind print by me. Thank you so much for supporting my art! :D

how i feel today... ^__^

Oh sweet marshmellow in the sky... I couldn't believe it when I saw this during my journey to Morocco with my friend Maiko in 2008. I closed my eyes for the longest time, re-opened them and there it remained.....so still in the sky. As if it was there waiting for me to see it so I can remember that moment in time when I saw it. I like the feeling this marshmellow gives me...... hope and appreciation... I hope sweet marshmellow will give you all that as well. ^__^

my first post!

It's Spring Season and here's a perfect photo to start off this blog!

The photo above is titled "Limca", taken on my trip to India back in 2005 with one of my long time friend, Lea. And yep, that's her up there... :) Us taking a rest stop in Agra with 2 bottles of refreshing Limca's.

I thank Etsy Seller, Buppins for including my photo above in her treasury list under the theme "summer souvenirs". I'm fairly new in the Etsy community so will surely get excited about something like this!
You can check out Buppin's shop at http://buppins.etsy.com - it's filled w/ fun vintage items and many old craft supplies to browse through and buy! You'll love it! :D
