Over 30 artists have been selected to share their gifts and their passion to help eradicate breast cancer. My "growing up together" piece has been selected as part of their exhibition which will run Sept. 28- Oct. 18 at "C Art Gallery" in Seattle. Proceeds from art sales will support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. To learn more about the event or to see the many other works by other artists that will be in the exhibit, please visit www.cartgallery.net. Again, I'm very honored to be selected to be part of this where I can do what i love and to help others all at same time. :)

Last night was pre-grand opening dinner party for the Obasan Restaurant, soon to be opened to the public sometime this week! The interior space was designed by Yukako Horiuchi and she asked me if I'd like to display some of my photography there so I said YES! :D I really like what Yukako did with the space, from paint color selection to the wall treatment around the counter area with the dark stained wood slats. The entire atmosphere feels very young and fresh but still sophisticated. With upbeat music in the background and the great food that Obasan chefs create, I see this as a great new happening space in lower queen anne. I've met the owners last night and they are young and so full of energy. I like seeing young people start new businesses... they just have so much passion and excitement in their eyes... you can almost feel it yourself and can't help but be excited for them too. So, if you're ever in Seattle and in Lower Queen Anne area, step into Obasan and eat some yummy food... :D Dont' forget to ask the owners to tell you the story of how they came up with their restaurant name... :)
Today's photo is one I took of guitar musician, Trace Bundy. I went to see him live for an event, a benefit for Agros International and World Relief . His affection for music and to help people can really be felt by everyone who was there... simply, pure rawness... pure genius. I didn't have the best camera to capture the best photo when I was there but I still hope you all enjoy this photo as much as I do. And a treat here *^_^* : Trace Bundy with Sungha Jung playing "Canon" on acoustic guitar.

My very loyal groupie (in above photo ;)) came with me to visit the grand opening of Bedlam Coffeehouse in Belltown, Seattle thursday night. Not only does this place have 5 of my photos hanging on their walls (=P) but this coffee place has many other things to look at too. As we sat w/ wandering eyes around the space, we saw little wooden blocks spelling out their coffee place. So cute! But they also have all sorts of collective items displayed in their space. One of the owners was even painting a monkey on the wall as we were drinking coffee! How cool is that? ha! It's very inspiring to see these young guys open such a coffee place in seattle... so different from any other coffee place... very community based which is nice! So, if you're ever in Belltown, go check this place out and check out my works and other photographer's works that are up now too... =P "Bedlam Coffeehouse on 2nd and Bell"
My friend Lea and I crossed paths with this dog who I name in my head as Patsy during our artwalk adventure in the phinney/greenwood area last weekend. I look at this dog and she just cracks me up! No matter what angle I look at her, she looks straight back at me! She's so adorable! The owners saw how excited I was seeing her that they asked her to do tricks like sit up straight for me... unfortunately, I did not get a shot of that moment. I don't know what her name is but in my head, it's Patsy. If you should ever see Patsy around the neighborhood, give her a petting! ;)
what a nice day today! last night was opening night for the greenwood/phinney artwalk and i didn't realize that this event would bring in so many seattle people not to mention my good friends and family. it was really fun to meet strangers from all walks of life and everyone's SO friendly and nice!!! well, i tend to think everyone's nice usually... but they are! It's fun and sometimes funny to see what people say about your works...But it's even more fun when people come up to me to tell me how they can relate to the image I took... :) Today, I'll be there again but probably not so much staying at my own venue. I think today, I will take some time to visit the over 60 artists at this event.... :) The above image was an image I took last summer inland from oregon coast. today's such a nice day... just like the photo above... :)
I'm really lucky to have design & art consultant, Keri Schroeder select 4 of my prints to be displayed and sold at a modern design showroom over in Kirkland. The showroom is MDS - Modern Design Sofas which they have 2 locations, one in Kirkland and one in Pioneer Square. They have really fine, clean designs and they offer interior decorating services too! Keri has a great design sense and is really nice helping me through this exciting new process for me. I hope to be able to work with MDS for quite some time so we'll see how it goes! :D Below are the 4 images Keri selected to show in their showroom. :) You can also learn more about MDS here : http://www.moderndesignsofas.com/

I mailed this framed photo out to my very first 'out-of-state artist buyer' on Monday. It's a first so I'm extremely excited so of course I must have a post for this... =P Today, the buyer emailed to tell me she received the package! I'm so glad it got to her in safe condition. Thank you Kathryn for being a 'first' for me and your support of young artists! :D
I am going to be part of a group show at Cugina Cafe in Ballard for months of July/August! Stay tuned for more information about the other cool artists I'll be doing the show with. Personally, I like group shows more than solo and this is my first so I'm excited. It's more exciting to share the space with other artists. Me like... :D
Hello everyone! As said before, I'm very happy and fortunate to be selected in next month's Fremont Artwalk. It's coming sooner than I thought... in less than 2 weeks! I still have yet to finish working on some new images not to mention making prints and getting them framed. =P But things are slowly coming along... If you want to find out more about the artwalk, information on artists who are showing and me ;) , please check out this blog :
Hello all! Today I want to share with you one of my favorite images taken by my friend/photographer, Lea Yang. This photo of hers was taken on her trip to India and she titles it, "Munshi Ghat". I fell in love with the colors, texture and the whole character of these steps as soon as I saw the print made by her. And today I'm excited because Lea has an artist reception at Victrola Coffee and I'm sure to be there to cheer her on! :D Hope you all can stop by to say hi to this great artist... 411 15th Ave. East, Capitol Hill.
I have started my new photo project titled, "these are their stories...." where I hope this will be an on-going project for me to share the many stories of others around the world through my images to you all. The above photo was a shot I took during my trip to China. Her face is so unique and I love her rosy cheeks... ^_^ You can see more photos from this project here at

Here's my latest series of photos titled "new york stories". I'm thinking of including this series for my artwalk show in fremont which I've been fortunately selected to show next month. I'll be showing my collection titled, "architectural stories".... i'm working on a few more images to include in the collection so stay tuned... ;)
